Grey Field

Here's what I have been working on lately. There is no sound yet, but eventually I am imagining some sort of low drone . . . The speed on this piece might be a bit faster than the final version will be . . . but this is something.

  1. This is very interesting. When seeing halftone patterns I think of CMYK printing which of course was developed to quickly reproduce static images to a potentially indefinite amount to be viewed by as many people as possible. With your video you contrast all of this, you are using the halftone pattern to create a fluid image that is never static, which moves very slowly and may not be viewed by many people at all. I also like how the printing and halftone technology was as one point the breakthrough technological innovation and while that generation has pasted our current generation relates to and responds to technological innovation in a much different manner. They expect it to blow their minds. They except the next iPad to cook for them. So what does your video say about all of this if it does at all?

Knowing you, the halftone pattern speaks to you as an artist, your education and professional background as a designer.

Lots to think about, your work always gets me to consider a variety of concepts and I believe that is one of your greatest strengths with your video work.
