This beautiful map and 49 others got four colors screen printed on them today between 6;30am and 3:00pm. I also managed to teach three classes and chat with my advanced print making students during our studio time . . . While printing.
All four screens burned by 8 am and off to critique with the advanced layout and design class . . .
Between 11 and 12:30 I got the first two colors pulled. And got the third lined up and registered.
Got the third and fourth done between 2 and 3 . . . It was right down to the wire. As I was cleaning my screen, the alarm on my phone that reminds me to pick up Ethan went off . . .
I really like this whole series you've been working on.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the technical/formal execution, four color, registration, printed on old paper. However, it's also enjoyable to let the mind/eye wander from an image that depicts such an unknown as space to a very well known, mapped subject such as a portion of earth. Trying to connect the astronaut image to the words, to the symbols to the map provides for a lot of looking experiences.
Also, I can't believe you're pulling this off between classes, one on day.
