Thanks for posting all of the in-progress pics. Great to see how you go about tackling this piece. It was also interesting to see when the clock was included in the photo how quickly the layers were added. I think between three steps it looked as though only 5 minutes had passed, 2:45 — 2:50. That's moving.
There is a printmaker in KC named Mike Lyons who does these elaborated CNC pen and ink drawings, he sometimes does a time-lapse photo piece showing the machine "drawing" which can takes 100+ hours. He includes an analogue clock in the frame and then when he condenses the 100 hours into 7 minutes for example you see the clock hands spinning like crazy and you get a sense of time. Maybe something you could do to show the over worked angle, present each layer, document time, and prepare a time-based media piece.
The other aspect of the photos that was enjoyable to see was the wall surrounding the canvas, when the paint/stenciling overlapped and was included on the wall it created this sense of dimension with the canvas morphing out of it.
Do you think this is something that you are going to keep working on indefinitely?

Made a mistake on the artist's name above it's Mike Lyon not Lyon(s).
